Factory Raise over £2,000 in Open Garden for Weston Hospicecare

On Sunday 8th July local manufacturing company, Clifton Food Range opened their garden to the public in aid of Weston Hospicecare.

The staff at Clifton Food Range worked hard to make the day a success ensuring that the garden was looking its best, ready for its’ ‘big day’. Cakes were also being baked all weekend ready for the Sunday afternoon event.

Sunday’s event saw around 250 people gather together in the Clifton garden for an afternoon of tea, homemade cake, a raffle, book stalls and homemade gifts.

After receiving kind gifts and donations from nationwide companies, including Thatchers Cider, Bombay Sapphire, Exeter Cookery School and Exeter Chiefs Rugby, the catering manufacturing company based on the Oldmixon Crescent raised over £700.00 in the raffle alone and over £900.00 before the event had even started.

Local and national companies including Beams and Brackets Steel Fabricators, Jelf, The Channel Partnership and Ascot Group gave generous donations.

The garden, which sits behind the working factory, was bustling with people looking around the vegetable patches, the beehives and the ponds.

Managing Director of Clifton Food Range commented after the event, “Our Open Garden day in support Hospicecare was a huge success. We had in the region of 250 visitors to our secret garden on the Industrial Estate and we are all thrilled that we have managed to raise over £2000 for this very worthy cause. I would like to thank everyone who gave so generously beforehand and on the day itself. A big thank you to those companies that donated some fantastic raffle prizes and to my team here at Clifton for making the event such a successful one.”

In total Clifton Food Range raised £2,024.03 for Weston Hospicecare.
